Thoughts

If I stay up another 4 hours, that will make 48 hours straight. I only got 3-4 hours of sleep the night before that. Somehow I made the 3 1/2 hr drive home without falling asleep behind the wheel (I think). Now I’m finally home, finally eating supper at 3:30 am. Oh, the bad habits we learn in art school : )

This is a really strange feeling. I don’t have any more projects due. I don’t have homework. I finally have time to work on all those ideas I have had over the past few years that never really fit the next project assignment. No more 24 hours of classes each week. I don’t have to pack up all my stuff and move between states 4 times a year. I started kindergarden in 1991, so the last….(good thing I’m not a math major)…16ish years I’ve had school every day (minus this last semester when I didn’t have classes on Wednesdays). No more of that. Now it’s off to look for a job. I am a graphic designer.

Here’s the scary thing about those bad habits…I’ve had to do all-nighters at the workplace. They don’t always disappear. I know several people who have had to do this, whether it is to finish a job, prepare a proposal, etc. There was a post about these habits on speak up a while back, if I find it I will post it.

or here’s a gem. I had a design job where I had to get up at 5am (sometimes 4:30) to be to work on time, and then spend the entire day working. Still, my habits wouldnt leave and I could never get to bed before midnight. I drank a lot of caffeine those days

Good luck Jenna! I had a job once where I went to bed at 10am, slept until 5pm, then went to work at 8… yikes…there are all kinds, but I’m sure you’ll manage. I enjoyed working with you on the Revise project, and seeing the great ideas you had in class.

    Enjoy life after school!

It is weird for everything to be finished. But I’m going to enjoy it for now! It’s been great having you in class Jenna, and I’m glad you made it home safely on such little sleep.

I know sleep and a consistent schedule must be in my future. God, I hope.

    Best of luck with everything!
