Check out this website. There is this crazy man that used a dog and let him starve to death as his art exhibit. My friend at Savannah College of Art and Design was telling me all about it. Also a student there had bought a parrot at Pet Smart and snapped its neck and made a bracelet for his fibers class. The bracelet had blood still on it and all that gross stuff and got kicked out of class for the day.

 The college really can’t do much about it like academic probation or anything since it is an Art Movement and will have to make changes in the school policies, rules.

 I just thought you would like to hear something new and strange and not support what what is happening. There are so many places to go out and buy art supplies that you don’t have to kill an animal in an inhuman way.

Team Detroit, comprised of five of the largest advertising and communications agencies in Detroit, including JWT, Y&R, Ogilvy, Wunderman and GroupM, will host a Recruiting Open House on Thursday, May 15 from 4:00pm-8:00pm.

They are looking for creative, idea-driven, detail-oriented individuals with a strong sense of initiative. All experience levels are welcome. This Friday, April 25, BathHouse hypermedia journal goes live with the reveal of their re-designed website, designed by EMU alum and frequent contributor to this blog Nick Woods.

The site boasts a new user-friendly interface and will experiment with innovative ways for readers to interact.

Jennifer Stucker, a current EMU graduate student, will have her MFA thesis exhibition, common abnormalities: juxtapositions in (a)typical modes, opening today April 21 running through May 1st. It is definitely worth checking out if you are around. Her exhibition is in the student gallery in the new Student Union. There will be a reception April 27th from 1-3pm.

For those of you that are undergrads, you should go see what the grad students are up to and be inspired.

This weekend AIGA Toledo is hosting a student portfolio review in Bowling Green, OH. The format will be similar to the one we hosted. All students are welcome to attend. A friend of mine collects all the weird stuff he finds on the streets of Brooklyn, so we made a quick little test animation of what some of it could do. We’re making a music video with the stuff this summer.
