poster design
a friend told me about this site – gigposters.com. i thought it would be nice to share since i made 754,392, 383 posters while at emu. its has an amazing directory of artists and bands ranging from the pros like jay ryan to amateurs like shitty the shit looker. the reason shitty is on there is because you can upload your work onto the site and share with the rest of us. the forums also include lots of tips on printing, technique, materials and all that jazz so check it out… or be dumb, its entirely up to you.

gigposters has been around for ages, I liken it to a more specific version of deviant art. While deviant when started years ago had some amazing underground stuff you wouldn’t see before, it now has a bit of everything as does gig posters.
I guess the internets is good and bad that way. it is great to have lots of freedom, but too much without someone editing leaves room for lots (and I mean lots) of crap. The trick for the kids today is figuring out what is crap and what is not, so that they don’t think the bad stuff is good (unless it is awesomely bad for a reason).
